DAY 1: Budapest
After spending Christmas with your beloved ones, fly to Budapest and join our group to go around Europe. This first day, depending on the arrival time of your flight, you will be able to walk around Budapest and get to know this city, born by unification of Buda and Pest when legendary Chain Bridge was built.
Since ’89 Hungary and it’s capital have been known for impressive development and every year they receive more and more tourist, youngsters among all, atracted by festivals and nightlife of Ruins Bar.
Are you cold-blooded? Then don’t forget your swimsuit and enjoy the best thermal baths in Europe, either at Szechenyi or at Gellert.
DAY 2: Budapest
We will begin our day by visiting everything there is to see in this amazing city. It is not difficult to see everything you want to in a short space of time as this city is not too big!
You cannot leave Budapest without visiting the St. Stephen’s Basilica, where you will find the right hand of the saint that this impressive building was named after. We will make sure we have enough time to go and admire the Parliment building, from which you can enjoy the view of the Danube River. We will follow the river until we reach the Monument of Shoes, where we will stop and have a few moments in silence. This monument is of great significance as it is dedicated to all of the Jews who lost their lives under the Nazi occupaton in WW2.
Finally we will cross the famous Chain Bridge to get to the Palace of Budapest and the Fishermans Bastion, from which you will be able to enjoy one of the best views in the city. Near to the Bastion you will find the Church of Matías, whose stain glass windows dates back to the 19th Century.
If you still have enough energy we highly reccomend going to one of the famous Ruin Bars or to one of the different thermal springs that can be found at different locations across the city.
DAY 3: Budapest - Bratislava - Vienna - 280km
It’s time to start the tour! Our first stop will be in the country that boarders Hungary… more specifically in its modern capital Bratislava. During this stop we will discover the many amusing brozen statues that make this city very easy on a traveller’s eyes.
But we won’t stop here for long, after driving only 50 km more, we will arrive to another country, Austria and its stunning capital Vienna. You will have the chance to show off by saying that you had breakfast in Budapest, lunch in Bratislava and dinner in Vienna.
DAY 4: Vienna
Today we will need to get up early in order to make the most out of our stay in the spectacular city of Vienna.
You will have the opportunity to choose to do a optional bus tour of Vienna or walk around the centre instead.
On the bus you will be able to visit all of the main landmarks in Vienna, from from the Prater and the Ferris wheel, to the Danube, and then participate in a tour the Ringstrasse, admiring its beautiful 19th century monuments.
Get to know the Russian military and the Belvedere Palace (musem of Klimt)…and go to the gardens of Schonbrunnif you want to get a glimpse into the life of Princess Sissi.
And to eat? Well, you have to try the local delicacies Schnitzel and Sachertorte… and obviously the most famous chocolate cake in the world (according to the Austrians).
DAY 5: Vienna - Cesky Krumlov - Prague - 382km
¡Vítejte v Cesku!
Another day, another country, another language, another currency. Thanks to the fact we are travelling via bus and not in a plane, you will have a chance to explore the Florence of the Bohemian region, Cesky Krumlov, an astonishing village in the south of Czech Republic.
From here, we will head even more north, until we reach the golden city of Prague, which will enchant you with its elegant old town and impressive castle.
DAY 6: Prague
Before enjoing the crazy New Year´s party, make sure you put on same warm clothes and enjoy walking around the old Town… we will take you through Wenceslas Square, universally known for being the scene of the “Prague Spring” and then to discover the most famous astronomical clock in the world. We will then cross the Vltava River by the bridge of San Carlos and also go to one the 30 famous Baroque sculptures. We will finally arrive at the feet of the world’s largest castle, which looks like something that belongs to the world of literature: Kafka.
Do you still have enough energy left? You still need to go and discover the new city, which is also of medieval origin, and, of course, the old Jewish quarter.
Make sure you are not too tired because we still have to eat dinner and the New Year´s Eve party await us! Prague is a very popular destination for New Year celebrations considering the charm of the city and the very cheap beer!
DAY 7: Prague - Kutna Hora* - Prague - 168km
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
After a legendary party, today you will have the option to either get to know another jewel of Czech Republic: Kutna Hora, world heritage site, maybe because of picturesque old town, maybe because of the peculiar chapel made of human bones.
Would you prefer to stay in the hostel and sleep all day? Don´t do it! There is too much to do and see in Prague you can´t miss out! Go and explore the Castle or the golden alley where Kafka used to live, or alternatively go and admire all of the weird and wonderful buildings such as the dancing house.
After we get back to Prague we will continue to enjoy and explore this magical city.
