ITINERARY: (Can be changed due to exceptional circumstances)
DAY 1: Seville - Algeciras - Tanger - Meknes
4.45am: Meet at Phoenix Pub Sevilla, and from there to Tarifa.
8.00am: Departure by fast ferry to Tanger Med.
After, a visit to Meknes, check-in at the hotel and dinner together.
DAY 2: Meknes- Midelt - Middle and High Atlas - Erfoud - Sahara
8.30am: After breakfast we depart from the hotel. With this journey we cross the middle Atlas to the population of Ifrane, a small alpine town at 1650m altitude, full of houses with slate roofs, founded in 1929 as a recreational city. We will also cross the largest cedar forest in the world with ancient trees colonised by wild Sylvian monkeys. Watch out for them! If you have food on you, they will steal it before you realise. Free lunch on route whilst we continue on our way to Erfoud. Dinner at the end of the day.
DAY 3: Sahara Desert
After checking out, we recommend that you only bring the clothes you need for the day and leave the rest inside our securely locked bus. After breakfast we begin the half-day excursion in Merzouga and the Great Erg Chebi, known as the Desert of Dunes, with extremely thin sand. Here we'll see the virgin desert and will pass by the small oases visited by the Berber nomads. We also visit Hamada (the desert of stones), and places where million-year-old fossils are found. In our 4x4 we will have many stops for pictures and to enjoy the sights. We arrive at the hostel in the afternoon. After is your time to enjoy a nice camel ride in the dunes whilst watching the sunset. At night in the camp, a show from the nomads awaits us. Following this, you have the opportunity to listen to the silence of the desert and enjoy a panoramic view of the dunes. We will spend the night in a camp in the middle of the desert called Haimas, with tents made of camel fur and hair, the same ones used by desert nomads to enjoy a magic night under thousands of stars. Dinner provided at the camp.
DAY 4: Merzouga - Fez
In the early morning we have a date with dawn. We recommend getting up early to see the sunrise from the dunes, in which words fall utterly short to describe the beauty of this event. After a Berber breakfast, we head to the holy city of Rissani. On the way you'll find dozens of ksur and kasbash, lost between palm groves and dunes, as well as marabouts and mausoleums dotted between fields, surrounded by adobe walls. Here is also the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. After, we continue to Erfoud and then head to Fez. After arrival at Fez and a quick panoraminc visit, we check in at the hotel and have dinner at 9pm.
DAY 5: Fez - Ceuta - Algeciras - Sevilla
Breakfast at the hotel and check out at 8am. We meet in the hotel lobby with the local guide of Fez, who will show us his beautiful city where the rich Moroccan artisan tradition is still alive today. Fez represents a lost world for the western civilizations. Founded by Moulay Idriss in 791, it is today the religious and spiritual capital of Morocco. Strolling through the labyrinthine streets of Fez will transport you to past worlds where potters, smiths, and artisans coexist with the foreign visitor, who never ceases to be surprised by the people and aromas that flood the atmosphere of this city. We start with Fez el Jedid, which includes the Alauitas square, exteriors of the Royal Palace and Dar el Makhzen. We then continue by foot to visit Fez el Bali and Attarin's spice souk. The square of Nejjarin is next, where Le Foundouk is located, following a visit the madrasa of Bounania. Afterwards, we continue to Es Seffarin square to finish the tour in the neighborhood of the tanners to see the tanneries. Mirrors, perfumes, hens, pigeons, silver, gold, sandals, sandals, chilabas, drums, vegetables, fruits, pottery, forged, herbs (nothing illegal), spices, portraits of the king, cereals, books, glassware, and anything else imaginable, is here. The constant rattling of the donkeys, loaded with merchandise from various origins, transports you to another world only broken by the cry of "Balak" with which the owner of the animal warns the passers-by to free the way for him and his donkey. Finally, we depart to Ceuta. Arrival to the port and embark to Algeciras at 10.30pm. Departure from the fast ferry to Algeciras. Arrival and transfer to Seville, where we will be in around 2:00am.
